Swiss Banking News: March 2010

27.03.2010 UBS announced the appointment of the new CEO of UBS Switzerland and the co-CEO of Wealth Management & Swiss Bank. Lukas Gähwiler, who succeeded in these posts Franco Morra, will also become a member of the Group Executive Board. He will take on his function on 1 April 2010. Until February 2010, Lukas Gähwiler was under contract with Credit Suisse, where he held positions with responsibility for client businesses as well as control functions. His most recent position was CEO of Credit Suisse Private Banking, responsible for the credit business of Private Banking division worldwide.

On 15 March, 2010, UBS has published its annual report for the fourth quarter and full year.

30.03.2010 Credit Suisse opened the branch in Bahrain and appointed Khaled Salah as the head of it. The Bahrain branch of Credit Suisse will focus on serving wealthy individuals, families and corporations in the country, answering the increasing demand for a more sophisticated approach in terms of asset allocation and looking for access to a truly global platform for specialized financial services and products.
Credit Suisse has offices established in Abu Dabi, Beirut, Cairo, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Manama and Riyadh. He was granted an Investment Firm License by the Central Bank of Bahrain in September 2008.
