Swiss Banking News: April 2010

7.04.2010 Credit Suisse announced the results of its annual Hedge Fund Investor Survey, which gathered responses from institutional investors on a broad range of topical issues such as asset flow forecasts, fee negotiations, the most popular investment strategies and new launches. The survey was compiled by Credit Suisse's Prime Services business, comprising the views of a diversified cross-section of hedge fund investors.
According to the survey, managers and investors expressed general optimism about the growth prospects for the hedge fund industry in 2010. By the estimations of hedge fund investors, the industry will grow from USD $1.64 trillion at the end of 2009 to USD $1.97 trillion by the end of this year.
The survey also asked investors on their investment plans and defined the most popular strategies. The leader by geographic focus is Asia-Pacific focused strategies, with 61% of investors increasing allocations.
