10.06.2009 Credit Suisse expanded its presence in Qatar by adding investment banking and asset management to the range of integrated banking solutions it offers to clients in Qatar.
Also, Credit Suisse Financial Services (Qatar) LLC, secured an authorization by the Qatar Financial Centre Authority to do business in the Qatar Financial Centre in Doha.
Credit Suisse was granted a financial services licenses by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) in 2006.

23.06.2009 Private bankers of Switzerland were asked by the chairman designate of bankers' association to maintain highest standards for ethics and privacy despite increasing international pressure for tax transparency. According to Patrick Odier, a senior partner at Lombard Odier, Switzerland's bankers had to rebuild confidence in their industry after the credit crisis and international attacks on bank secrecy.
Switzerland's bankers' association said it was stepping up lobbying and information in countries, such as the US, UK and Germany, where Swiss banks have been attacked for alleged assistance in tax evasion.
