Swiss Banking News: February 2007

13.02.2007 UBS reported both 4th quarter result and 2006 result. UBS 4th quarter result was CHF 3.4 million, while full-year result was CHF 12.3 million. As to full-year results, net profit attributable to UBS shareholders of CHF 11,491 million was from continuing operations, whle CHF 766 million was from discontinued operations. UBS 4th quarter diluted EPS from continuing operations of CHF 1.54, which was an increase of 20% from a year earlier.

15.02.2007 Credit Suisse in cooperation with the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) cariied out an economic survey. According to the survey, financial market experts continue to consider the current situation of the Swiss economy as very favorable. However, Credit Suisse ZEW indicator regarding the economic outlook appeared to be more pessimistic. 11.5% of the survey participants expect the Swiss Franc to further weaken versus the Euro, while 46.2% expect it to gain strength versus the Euro. The latest Credit Suisse ZEW survey analysis confirms that, in general, the participants assess the present economic situation in Switzerland positively.
