31.03.2008 To facilitate cross-border financial services supervision, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) has concluded information exchange agreement with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) of Washington State in the United States. The document is a memorandum of understanding on information sharing between the CIMA and the OIC, which regulates insurance business in and from Washington State (the Office of the Insurance Commissioner is the primary regulator of all insurance entities in Washington State).

20.03.2008 The 3rd Global Financial Centres Index that was commissioned by the City of London Corporation stated that London is the world's top financial centre, and it is followed by New York. According to the 3rd Global Financial Centres Index, Hong Kong is the world's 3rd top financial centre. Other leaders are Singapore, Zurich, Frankfurt, Geneva, Chicago, Tokyo and Sydney. Hong Kong takes the 3rd place in this top for the 2nd year.
