01.07.2007 On June 26, 2007, the United Kingdom and Switzerland signed a protocol to the double taxation convention in London. It was signed by the UK's Paymaster General Dawn Primarolo and the Swiss Ambassador to the UK, Alexis P. Lautenberg. The protocol amends the existing double taxation convention signed on December 8, 1977. The changes regard mainly the elimination of taxation at source on dividends, where the beneficial owner of the dividends substantially participates in the payer or pension scheme, and the exchange of information article, which provides information exchange in cases of tax fraud and cases involving holding companies.
